2024-25 Enrollment Information for CURRENTLY ENROLLED NMS Students

If the student lives within the NMS/IHS boundary: Automatically enrolled for next year at NMS or IHS (8^th graders). Parents do not need to do anything further and student will be included in class registration.

Students attending on a waiver this school year - IHS is closed to waivers for the next school year. Please visit the district website for information on the waitlist process:

In-district 6 / 7^th graders: Students are automatically enrolled at NMS for next year. Parents do not need to do anything further and student will be included in class registration.

In-district 8^th graders: Students are automatically enrolled at their residential NSD high school (not IHS). Please contact the high school for class registration information.

Out-of-district 8^th graders: Students have not been enrolled at IHS and parents will need to contact their school of residence for enrollment for 2024-25.

Out-of-district 6 / 7^th graders: Students are enrolled temporarily at NMS for next year. An email was sent on 1/31/24 from the district office with information on the waiver renewal process. Due by 2/28/24: Waivers will need to be resubmitted through OSPI (link below) and reviewed for acceptance. Student will be included in class registration during the temporary enrollment. Class registration and enrollment will be removed if the waiver is not renewed or approved by NMS.

March 18 & 19: Counselors deliver online Course Selection materials to classrooms. March 18 - 22: Online Course Selection window open for parents/students to enter course selections in StudentVue. March 22, 11:59 pm: Online Course Selection closes.

2/7/24: 6:00 - 6:40 pm	5^th Grade Parents: 6^th grade registration overview via Zoom. Info will be emailed prior to the meeting. This session is only for parents of students already enrolled at NMS as of the date of the event.
2/8/24:	Students transferring from non-NMS feeder elementary schools – NMS will email registration materials to parents.
2/8/24:	Counselors visit 5th grade classrooms w/6^th grade course registration information. 11:10 am: Moorlands Elementary
2/9/24:	Counselors visit 5th grade classrooms w/6^th grade course registration information. 9:15 am: Arrowhead Elementary 11:00 am: Woodmoor Elementary
2/15/24:	6^th grade Class Selection Sheets and Health Forms due to 5^th grade teachers.
5/29/24:	5th Grade Parent Night (Parents Only) Where: Northshore Middle School 6:30 pm: 504, AAP, ELL, Special Education 7:00 pm: All parents This session is only for parents of students already enrolled at NMS as of the date of the event.
June	These visits are only for students already enrolled in 6^th grade at NMS as of the date of the event. 5^th Grade classroom visits to NMS (students only): 6/4/24,12:45-1:45pm: Arrowhead 5^th grade classes visit (bus transportation provided) Newly enrolled 2024-25 6^th graders and students from non- feeder elementary schools (parent transport) 6/6/24, 12:45 -1:45pm: Moorlands visit (bus transportation provided) 6/7/24, 1:00 - 2:00 pm: Woodmoor's visit (students will walk with school staff)

Schedule Changes

Choices made by students during registration are considered to be final. Offered courses and school staffing are based on the decisions students make during the registration process. However, schedule changes may be made on a limited basis for the following reasons:

A graduation requirement must be added
A student does not have the skills to continue in a year-long class
Administrative withdrawal is requested
Incomplete schedule
Duplicate classes/obvious errors
IEP/ELL placement issues

Any schedule change that does not meet these criteria is subject to administrative approval.
