In-district 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders: Students who live in the NMS boundary zone are automatically enrolled at NMS or IHS (8th) for next year. Parents do not need to do anything further and students will be included in class registration.
Students attending on a waiver this school year - it is unknown at this time which schools will be closed for waivers next year. Please visit the district website for information on the waiver timelines. The following is information for current NMS students attending on a waiver this year:
In-district 5th graders (living outside of the NMS boundary zone): Students who are currently enrolled in NSD and live outside of the NMS boundary zone will be enrolled at their residential NSD middle school. Please see the waiver webpage below for waiver application dates and requirements. We encourage families to connect with their local schools for class registration, in the event a waiver cannot be approved for NMS.
In-district 6th and 7th graders (living outside of the NMS boundary zone): Students who are currently enrolled at NMS with an in-district waiver are automatically enrolled at NMS for next year. Parents do not need to do anything further and students will be included in class registration.
In-district 8th graders (living outside of the IHS boundary zone): Students are automatically enrolled at their residential NSD high school. Please contact that high school for class registration information. Students interested in the IHS IB program, contact Melissa Holladay at IHS now for an IB application. Otherwise, review the district's waiver webpage for direction on 2025-26 waiver dates and requirements.

Out-of-district 6 / 7th graders: Students who are currently enrolled with an out-of-district waiver are temporarily enrolled at NMS for next year. An email was sent from the district office with information on the waiver renewal process. Due by 1/31/25: Waivers will need to be resubmitted through OSPI (link below) and reviewed for acceptance. Student will be included in class registration during the temporary enrollment. Class registration and enrollment will be removed if the waiver is not renewed or approved by NMS.
